Anuradha Bhaumick is a textile and embroidery artist who tells stories through stitches, cloth and soft sculpture. Her work is a quiet celebration of memory, slowing down and everyday histories of feminist labour.
Her initiative, Sui Kapda Baagan, is a community-first brand that breathes new life into deadstock fabrics and unsold garment industry leftovers through the art of hand embroidery. Instead of letting these forgotten textiles head to a landfill, SKB rescues them, transforming discarded cloth into canvas for collective storytelling. Every piece carries a deeper purpose: the proceeds from each sale directly funds The Savitribai Phule Memorial School in Darbhanga, Bihar, turning embroidery into a tool for education and social care.
